Jocelyn Vodovoz Schmidt

President

Jocelyn’s Ballet training began at a very early age. Moving throughout her life she has received training at many schools.

  • Louisville Ballet – Richard Munroe, Alan Jones, Helen Starr
  • San Diego Ballet – Keith Martin,
  • California Ballet – Marius Zirra
  • Ballet Pacifica – Lila Zali. As a young adult she trained at professional schools in London.

Her early professional experience began with Wayne Sleep of the Royal Ballet in a production that toured the United Kingdom and London’s West End.

Ballet led to a musical theater career in London and on Broadway. In shows like Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Witches of Eastwick and Les Miserables to name a few.

Locally she has performed lead roles in musicals such as Chicago, Cabaret and Annie Get Your Gun. In addition, she created and starred in the fundraising event for Women’s Crisis Support Team called An Evening To Remember at the Performing Arts Center.

Jocelyn has been teaching ballet in Grants Pass Since 2005 and has enjoyed many years being part of the creative team of the annual production of The Nutcracker.

A licensed massage therapist since 2006, she is also a NASM certified personal trainer, and certified in Progressing Ballet Technique. She is known for her command of technique instruction and as a positive teacher with an energetic and motivating teaching style.


Kimberly Awbrey

VP, Fusion

Owner of Fusion Dance and Performing Arts since 2010.  Founder of Fusion Dance Alliance non-profit organization.

Trained in San Fransisco Bay area. She is an acknowledged dance teacher and choreographer having worked for many schools and academies with performance and competitive dance teams. Her current students have won many awards, titles and scholarships to conventions, theater art programs and schools, most notably, The Juilliard School, Northwestern University and in 2010, Miss Oregon Outstanding


Joanna Pitzak

Secretary/ Treasurer

Education: studied dance and musical theater at Brigham Young University. Graduated Iowa State with a triple degree in Liberal Arts, focused on English, Dance and French.
Experienced in teaching students from age 3 through adult levels.
Taught in Iowa, and Ohio prior to moving to Grants Pass in 2002. Taught locally for 12 years in ballet, jazz, creative movement and musical theatre.
Choreographed/Musical Director for Grants Pass High School Trained in piano – lead choir for children, teens and adults for 25 years. Mother of 3.


Carrie Bernhart

VP, Fundraising / Events

Carrie has been involved in the causes of students and the arts in the Grants Pass Community for over 15 years. She has held offices in the PTA organizations at Highland and North and has spent several years on Parent Advisory and school Site Councils. She was one of three serving on the Macy’s Fundraising Committee (2017-2018) raising funds to take 250 students to New York City to march in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She has co-chaired the Pride of the Northwest Marching Band Competition for the last three years (largest fundraiser for the GPHS Marching Band). She has volunteered with the One Eleven Theatre Company, and she and her husband have been sponsors of many other local theatre and benefit productions. She also serves on the Josephine County Citizens Review Board where she reviews the cases of our local children in Foster Care. She’s very excited to be involved in this new adventure that will bring such great opportunities and experiences to our local youth and their families.


Jennifer Bohn

Founding Member of Fusion Performing Arts Alliance, serving as secretary/treasurer since 2018.
Fusion Dance Academy Studio Manager since 2015. Worked as an educational assistant in Central Point School District since 2010. Grew up in Southern Oregon, graduated from North Medford High School. Currently living in Central Point with her husband and 2 daughters. She did not enter the dance world until her daughter started dancing 14 years ago at the age of 5, who was accepted to college through auditioning for their dance program.


Irvin Vodovoz

VP, Business Affairs

Retired career employee Federal Aviation Administration, Air Traffic Control. Consultant for Raytheon (aerospace and defense).
(Locally) Insurance Sales for AFLAC.
Board member – 28 years – San Pedro City Ballet (non-profit organization) in CA.
Board Officer – National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees (NAARFE) -15 years.


David Awbrey

VP, Consultant

Retired Santa Clara County (CA) and Medford City Police Department
Founding board member of Fusion Performing Arts Alliance.
